Carrie MusselmanDr. Carrie Musselman

Dr. Carrie’s first experience as a chiropractic patient occurred following a rebounding injury during her junior year of basketball season in high school. During the initial history and consultation, the Chiropractor became aware of her many years of suffering with migraine headaches. Even in grade school, the teachers would excuse her from class because of the eye pain, throbbing of her head, and vomiting. All symptoms related to migraines. After receiving a number of adjustments, her back pain and headaches went away.

After graduating from high school, Dr. Carrie received a full atheletic scholarship to play volleyball at Division I, Valparaiso University in Indiana. Continued maintenance adjustments allowed her to perform injury free at her peak performance level. Because of the amazing results that she experienced throughout her athletic career, she accepted the offer to work for her home town Chiropractor as a Chiropractic Assistant (CA). This allowed her to learn even more about the profession of Chiropractic and the many different ailments that it effects, by boosting the bodies ability to heal itself naturally.

While working as a CA, Dr. Carrie also furthered her education and received a Certification in Massage therapy. She owned her own massage therapy clinic where she worked hand in hand with many chiropractors, accupuncturists, and medical doctors. In her heart, she wanted to be able to offer her patients more. Dr. Carrie went on to attend Logan College of Chiropractic in Chesterfield, Missouri where she earned a Bachelors of Science in Human Biology and her Doctor of Chiropractic degree.

Brett RappeneckerDr. Brett Rappenecker

Dr. Brett’s first experience with chiropractic care was when he was 5 years old. Dr. Brett came down with an ear ache that persisted for close to a month’s time. During this time, he was taken to a number of hospitals and pediatricians, to see if anyone could help alleviate his condition. Through weeks of frustration, and several prescriptions, Brett’s father (Richard) suggested to his mother (Gina) that he be taken in to a chiropractor. Richard’s friend Dr. Jeff Pence had just graduated not long before from Palmer College of Chiropractic. He was taken in for an evaluation, to which Dr. Pence had noticed subluxations in his upper cervical spine. Dr. Brett was adjusted, and within 5 minutes, he was done screaming and crying, and fell right to sleep. The ear condition resolved completely soon after, well within a day’s time. Dr. Brett has been a life-long patient of Dr. Jeff Pence since then.

Dr. Brett attended Burlington High School in Burlington, IA and graduated in April 2002. He participated in Track and Field/Shot Put and played football. After graduation from high school, he attended Western Illinois University and received a Bachelor’s in Science with and emphasis in Athletic Training. At WIU, he was a student athletic trainer and provided athletic training coverage for all men’s and women’s teams throughout his time there. Dr. Brett also played club Lacrosse at WIU for 2 years.

After completing his time at WIU, Dr. Brett enrolled in the Doctor of Chiropractic program at Logan College of Chiropractic, and is an April 2012 graduate of Logan. During his time there, as side work, he provided athletic training coverage for numerous high schools and large tournaments. He has provided coverage for football all the way to tennis. He was a student intern for the Montgomery Health Center, located on Logan’s campus. He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Nutrition from Logan as well.

Dr. Brett believes that when you put your body in the best position it can possibly be in, the human body can overcome anything. Chiropractic has a strong influence to this philosophy. But other factors come into play as well, such as exercise and nutrition. Dr. Brett feels that his background in athletic training, chiropractic and nutrition, gives him a strong wellness based approach to his practice and philosophy.
